NEAT is non-formal exercise and energy expenditure such as walking, cleaning, mowing the lawn, fidgeting and so on. It's general activity that we wouldn't (or shouldn't) consider as exercise and is often subconscious. We look at ways we can incorporate and track NEAT in our lifestyles
James is the founder of Weightology. He has a Master's degree in Nutrition from the University of Florida and a second Master's degree in Exercise Science from Washington State University. James is a published scientist, author, and speaker in the field of exercise and nutrition. He has published research in prestigious scientific journals, including the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition and the Journal of Applied Physiology.
